The Apostle Paul answered that question with "Believe in Jesus Christ and you will be saved". Acts 17:31 That belief is more than head knowledge. It is a willing ascent to Jesus being the center part of your decisions both large and small.
Salvation is a rescue from the eternity of punishment for our sins; an eternal separation from Him and all that is good. Instead, we receive the eternal presence of the Holy God. God had declared that "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 2:23 NASB) and that the "wages of sin is death". (Romans 6;23 NASB). This is why all of us need to be saved.
We baptize both those who are able to make a credible profession of faith in Jesus as Lord and the young children of adults who make such a profession.
We believe that those making a credible profession of faith, are baptized in a Bible believing church and are members of such a church should be allowed to take communion. Those who have not met with a session member before the worship service are invited to observe, but are asked to not participate. The Bible teaches that those taking communion "in an unworthy manner shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord." 1 Corinthians 11:27
